We must work for our needs and the show must go on.
Let me bring your attention to my perspective towards this aspect of life that how comfort zone kills people and their potential. Nevertheless, they never become conscious of insecurities of security. Indeed, comfort is such a drug whose addiction jeopardizes our journey be it professional or spiritual.
Disciple of Guru Purna Vistar
if i take you to my past just after my college years,
I had earned a professional educational background which requires rigorous dedicated 5 years of university education.
People land up to a debt of 1 million $ or more in a developed industrialized nation if they want to access such an education !
Fortunately, professional Education in my chosen stream was not that expensive in my country of residence.
My parents were in a good job, could pay for my tuition.
Then, after passing final exams, i ended up in an internship.
I could not convince myself during internship with idea of working in that particular professional occupation. Interestingly,I studied to get that professional degree for 5 years.
It seemed more mechanical, tiresome and non-creative job. Internship experience took me to a burnout saturation stage.
The job involved public dealing and involved risks of infectious diseases. I left that job finally to join another new job in educational service company.
I met with lot of resistance from parents, relatives and known.
They said that how can you leave an occupation which required professional education spanning 5 years.
People are afraid to leave anything they have been with for years, even if they feel stuck, not creative or even if it harms them.
I always kept my intuition at priority and i never gave primary consideration to social prestige and opinion of others.
Indeed, People realise many times that their job is toxic. People realise that they went to college under someone’s influence and it was a mishap.
People marry and live in misery but they never accept that they may have done something wrong. They never step out of comfort zone trap.
Most people lack the courage to reject whatever they chose long ago but no longer works for them today. The idea of abandoning terrible choices made several years back scares people to death.
The mind of an ordinary person clings to the known past. Mind takes refuge in the past even if that past damages the present.
Anything i have been through be it a particular education or job or particular way of looking at things – can only be considered a milestone in my journey. It does not become my identity.
If i study something, that does not mean that i cannot study anything else other than that discipline.
If i study architecture, that has nothing to do with me becoming an actor.
The only way to grow is to continuously move into unknown. Step out of comfort zone trap.
Whatever i am today, i can abruptly choose to do something totally unimaginable tomorrow, in complete discontinuity of my past. This vision got consolidated in me after meeting Guru Purna Vistar.
A Guru takes you on a spiritual journey where you gather the courage to drop your past and constantly move ahead for your growth.
I feel myself most powerful today
My experiences from another corporate job in educational services company
I started working few years ago in new job after leaving my original profession. The company was a giant educational services company. I was a trainee and i got selected without much efforts , by chance.
I was not overwhelmed.
It was a company with nation wide presence and one of 4 leader companies in that niche with legacy of more than 30 years , employing more than 10000 people.
They offered me less wages contrary to my expectations. And i was concerned with it.
The atmosphere and work culture of company was hypnotic to its workers. Most senior managers would come to us to make us realize that this is the only heavenly company on earth and mere being part of it is the greatest achievement.
Senior management showed distant dreams of promotions with economic security and made us pledge allegiance to the company in all circumstances, in spite of the poor salary they offered to us as freshers.
In a week i realised that they are befooling me. I realised clever corporate tactics and began to criticise the company within me.
In contrast to that, all my fellow colleagues who joined with me were almost hypnotised and super optimistic of the company. Because of the 30 year legacy and its dominance in niche.
I was quite surprised by the fact that people pledge allegiance to the corporates due to their sheer massive size even if they are getting negligible compensation. Again one remains caught and never step out of comfort zone trap.
We are so foolish that we end up projecting delusional stability and security in our minds over giant corporates who are literally exploiting us from monetary point of view, and we approve them without criticism, even worship them.
Small businesses who indeed care for employees fail to get such support and allegiance. I was in the training phase.
I got frustrated slowly because they stretched paid training unnecessarily with false promises of good future, without giving real work assignments.
After 5 months i got a real assignment and with my consent, i was transferred to another city hundreds of kilometres away.
Same opportunity was offered to other colleagues but they were immersed in hallucinations of serving in city where company headquarters are located. They were literally ready to sit without work but were scared of moving to other city.
As i moved to new city, company increased my compensation slightly but not in proportion my comfort wanted.
People are stuck to their native places or cities close to their native places. A region becomes the identity of a man.
This is the characteristic of mind to cling to particular identities like region, nation, language, culture, occupation. The more you cling to a particular identity, more narrow you become, more fundamentalist you will be. Man is a flux and true spiritual journey begins when we begin to see beyond our identities, which is tremendously difficult for us. A man who does not cling to an identity is working against the millions of years old conditioning of sticking to known. Only in presence of a living master like Guru Purna , one gathers that courage to renounce the past and evolve into super man.
Identities began to loosen in me and i felt liberated and alive with Guru Purna.
I started doing work and i enjoyed it. But i was ambitious and not happy with my lesser compensation. Soon, i decided to do something about it.
Fortunately, i got a lucrative offer from a small company and i abruptly resigned from the giant corporate in which i worked.
Nobody could understand my decision because that was a time near Covid-19 pandemic. People were more and more fearful.
But i was ambitious and determined and saw nothing other than growth.
People prefer staying as slaves in big companies with less compensation instead of joining smaller businesses offering double compensation and more flexible work regimes.
People are too afraid of taking risks. No investor is ready to back up a business in an idea stage or pro seed stage. One does not step out of comfort zone trap.
I was surprised that people do not want to move to other cities located faraway from their home towns even if they are getting better paying jobs.
People are scared to join a small company even if it pays more.
In an era of layoffs which happen over a single call on Zoom inc. firing hundreds of people in less than a minute , without any valid explanation ,
without a chance of being heard , still people end up considering their bright futures and job security in their employment in a big company.
I do not know how do they believe in the promises of corporate.
I was ambitious and wanted higher salary instantly while my colleagues were just happy with the job and aligned themselves with viewpoint of the company that first, gain experience and invest your sweat and blood in company. After some years of loyalty, company will reward you. To me, this seemed like a scam. I was aggressive and bold and had greater risk appetite because of my relationship with Guru Purna.
People do not know who they are and hence, their identity is shaped by others. I had a strong urge for growth and lack of contentment in me because of the employer’s attitude. I was of the view that you be loyal to me and i will then be loyal to you.
Meanwhile, i broke up with my girlfriend who had narcissistic dreams and excess inclination to her parents. Everywhere i was at a loss.
She could not reciprocate my intense love.
Once shattered, i rose to leave behind all unconscious attachment with her. I do not know how did i get the courage – it was the subtle presence of Guru Purna Vistar.
Then, i moved to another small company in another city located 1267 Km away from my current location. All this happened in 2020 lockdowns of Covid-19 which was so strict that it even led to historical discontinuity of railways and air travel.
I got more salary and fortunately, living expenses came down.
Also, i started eating organic food and started consuming organic groceries because of inspiration from Purna Vistar.
I was happy but workload increased.
Interestingly, i had vigor and energy to diversify work areas abruptly in new job.
I took projects in my hand in niche with no experience, it was by choice.
This was the time when my work interests began to shift to an area which had no similarity with my educational background. Still i jumped and took the risk.
However, the owner of that small business told me that i can only give you one third of original CTC promised owing to Covid. Interestingly, it was still higher than the giant i earlier worked for.
People were losing jobs in COVID, so, i agreed.
However, the owner/my boss still did not increase my compensation in spite of opening of markets and withdrawal of restrictions.
Apart from this, they had inconsistent salary credit patterns, no date fixed.
I offered them to grant money even after 40 days but on a fixed date. They remained unpredictable.
Finally i resigned again.
Then, began a series of switching jobs annually or periodically – my journey was quite zigzag.
I resigned from 3 jobs.
And, got pink slip from a struggling business because owner requested me to leave as clients were not happy. I was no traditional worker to woo clients.
Again, they fired me from my job and rejected my compensation claims also.
Although, my compensation was denied. I persisted.
But they hired me again due to my demand in clients,
And i forced them to give my due compensation. They agreed.
Again, i wanted raise owing to their malafide intentions but company secretly planned to fire me and began to look to hire someone as my replacement first.
I get to know this and i started packing bags to again move to a location 1275 Km away.
I moved from one corner of country to another ,
My country of residence is in top 10 countries of world by land area.
Most people stick to one company and want to remain their pets for years.
Companies know this well that workers are foolish, they demand and protest but they never experiment and take any step beyond established framework.
As per my experience, usually technical jobs appear to be less indispensable for businesses but management positions are more indispensable, except few industries. I may be wrong.
Most people never read anything or learn any new skill once they start doing any job.
Workers are entirely dependent on companies to buy a house, pay mortgages , to bear marriage expenses and even the childcare or babysitting activities.
As a result, most people almost immediately fall in debt within first 5 years of landing up in an apparently secure job. Secure job mentality keeps them broke.
Majority of my colleagues seldom had any plans to learn something, some new skill , becoming a freelancer or rarest starting a business.
People opt for more stability and less risk as soon as they fall under marriage pressure due to trap of society.
Their Income does not increase.
They have no plans of growth in spite of doubled tripled expenses .
Survival instincts overpower ambition instincts in human race.
Man is an animal. Human is a part of animal kingdom.
Once he was hunter gatherer where he had to struggle for 6 hours to get one time’s meals and that too was not sure.
Primitive human needed more animals of their race to protect themselves from other conflicting groups,
to protect from dangerous wild animals and to hunt a large animal to secure food for days.
Large sized herds were desirable.
Recent researches tell that NEANDERTHAL men used to hunt big elephants and used their meat to survive for days.
So, man required sex also to maintain their population.
Majority of humans are still at their survival instincts till date.
Evolutionary psychology has shaped these instincts.
People want health but for free and this is complex to achieve after industrial revolution and advances in Chemistry.
Humans want money but without efforts. So, most remain content where they are and are not ready to go to any extent to achieve money.
Like taking risk to start a business, invent or innovate something or create something to earn money.
Most remain broke because in my constant observation i found that most of Humanity have a strong survival instinct but no consideration of any ambitions.
Ultimately, i want to inform you that i started an e-commerce business because of constant push and inspiration by Guru Purna Vistar who says that living unsettled is the spice. We must work for our needs and the show must go on.
